Activities
Rotaract clubs organize a variety of projects and activities, depending primarily on the interests of the club members. However, within the Rotaract program, all clubs undertake three types of activities in varying degrees: professional development, leadership development, and service projects. Together, these three areas ensure a balanced club program and provide important experience and opportunities for the personal development of each Rotaractor.
Reinertsen Reading Project
FM Rotaract will be helping students in 4th and 5th grade at S.G. Reinertsen Elementary improve their reading skills. The ability to read is a skill that is necessary for success academically and professionally.
According to the National Institute for Literacy's website:
In the National Assessment of Educational Programs (NAEP) 2000 national assessment of fourth-graders' reading ability:
37% were below the reading achievement Basic level,
31% were within the Basic level,
24% were within the Proficient level, and
8% were within the Advanced level.
Adopt a Highway
In the spring, summer, and fall we will be cleaning up three miles of I-29 from 13th Ave S to Rose Coulee.
We want to keep our community a clean and safe place. Feel free to honk and wave if you see us picking up litter.
